Parenting Young Children Group Classes

Learn you are not the only one with parenting questions and challenges.  The 10 hour class series shares child development, nurturing knowledge and positive discipline techniques using the S.T.A.R. technique.   Open to people who want to improve their parenting skills for lifelong learning and/or parents who are interested in receiving a required parenting class completion certificate.  Limited child care is provided for children who are independent walkers and older; younger children are welcome to join their parents.  For information about the latest class: Current Flyer.

Supernanny Visits

All parents need people to talk about the parenting challenges they face and realize they aren’t the only one going through them. Family and Childcare Resources of N.E.W.  can be that person for you.  A Parent Educator will come to your home or other comfortable setting to talk with you about those parenting issues.  Issues from bedtime routines, power struggles, finding time for yourself to food and meal time challenges-we’ll provide encouragement, support and new ideas. For availability, call 920-432-8899.

SupernannyParents As Teachers

By providing specific, timely information about child development in the family home, or at another comfortable setting, parents learn what they can do to provide their children with a positive start in life that will help ensure their success in school. The Parents As Teachers program includes home visits, parent group meetings, development screenings and a resource network for assistance. You can join this program from when you are pregnant to when your child is 2 ½ years old. To learn more about becoming a P.A.T. family, contact us at 920-432-8899 or e-mail at fcrnew@fcrnew.org.

Parenting Warm Line

Children don’t come with instructions. Every stage brings new behavior. Do you have a question looking for an answer?  Call 920-432-8899, during business hours of Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM & Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, to talk with a friendly, knowledgeable FCRNEW parent educator who will return your call within 24 hours, if they are not available immediately.  You may talk over the phone or schedule a visit in your home or other comfortable setting.

Or you can email any questions to fcrnew@fcrnew.org. Please indicate if you want us to call you back or if you prefer a response by e-mail.

Play groupPlay Groups

Play is the most natural and significant way for young children to learn.  Young children thrive on play.  Through role-playing, modeling, and exploration children learn so much about themselves, their friends, and their world. It is important for adults to be part of this play learning with their children. We have play groups to give you and your children the opportunity to learn and play together and with other adults and children.  We offer several play groups.  Click here for more information on our Bi-lingual Play Group.
