Agency Urges Parents to Use Resources
School supply lists and childcare options can overwhelm parents this time of year. Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. prepares for more parents needing help finding childcare options and want to make sure parents know there are resources to help.
“It’s a time of transition for many as they are looking for afterschool programs or looking for care for little ones as work schedules change after the summer,” says Paula Breese, Executive Director of Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. “Parents will feel most comfortable making childcare decisions if they are prepared and we have a lot of resources to assist with that.”
Parents can receive personalized childcare referrals through an online database found on their website at www.fcrnew.org or by calling the agency at 920-432-8899. The referral will help parents find regulated childcare options that meets the needs of the family.
Parents can also receive resource and information on how to look for quality childcare. They can also learn about how to use and understand the Youngstar Childcare Rating and Quality Improvement System. The Youngstar Rating System allows parents to compare the quality of childcare with a measurable standard.
Finding quality childcare options can make this time of transition easier for both parents and children,” says Breese. “Using a variety of tools to make an informed childcare decision will make it easier for families.”
