Blue Kite Campaign
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, so it is the perfect time to raise awareness in the community. In 2016, there were 5,090 reports of suspected child abuse and neglect in Brown County. Many families could use the support and benefits of programming offered at Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. and now we are seeing increased need for those services in our community.
At Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W., we are dedicated to supporting healthy early childhood development by providing high quality education, support, and programs to families and early childhood professionals. These programs work to reduce and prevent child abuse in our community through trainings, workshops, home visiting and other programs.
Throughout the month of April, participating local businesses will be selling kite pin-ups for $1 at point-of-sale. 100% of the profits then go towards child abuse prevention programming in the local area.
Support the campaign by purchasing a Blue Kite pin up at one of these locations during the month of April:
- University Avenue Market
- The Original Austin’s
- Webster Avenue Market
- Olsen’s Piggly Wiggly
- Quality Auto Repair Inc.
- The Enchanted Florist
- Sir Bounce A Lots
Thank you for supporting the Blue Kite Campaign!

More Blue Kite in April:
- Casual Day for a Cause– raise awareness with Blue Jeans for Blue Kites. Jeans day donations go directly to child abuse prevention. Area businesses like BayCare Clinic have participated in this effort.
- Supporting Families Together Association Train-a-thon– As part of this state-wide effort we will be helping to train numerous adults in how to recognize and respond to child abuse. Every adult should know their role in keeping children safe.
