Promoting healthy child development in all of Brown County
Parents As Teachers
By providing specific, timely information about child development in the family home, or at another comfortable setting, parents learn what they can do to provide their children with a positive start in life that will help ensure their success in school. The Parents As Teachers program includes home visits, parent group meetings, development screenings and a resource network for assistance. You can join this program prenatal to 2 ½ years old. We will soon be expanding to serve families prenatal to school age. Contact a parent educator for more details.
Families commit to working with parent educators for as long as three years, based on need. If you are interested in this structured support, contact our home visitation team at 920-432-8899.
Partnering with Parents
All parents need people to talk about the parenting challenges they face and realize they aren’t the only one going through them. Family and Childcare Resources of N.E.W. can be that person for you. A Parent Educator will come to your home or other comfortable setting to talk with you about those parenting issues. Issues from bedtime routines, power struggles, finding time for yourself to food and meal time challenges-we’ll provide encouragement, support and new ideas.
Supernanny home visitation is a short-term program, meeting with families a minimum of once per month for no more than six months. To see if your family qualifies, please contact our parent educators at 920-432-8899.
