We are always looking to connect with others who want to make a difference in our community by promoting healthy child development. Here are a few ways you can help:

There are many different ways for community members and groups to support the work happening every day at Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. Call 920-432-8899 or e-mail outreach@fcrnew.org to set up a tour to learn how you can help us improve early childhood experiences in northeast Wisconsin.

What Does Healthy Child Development Mean For Our Community?

Through healthy child development programs, our community’s future skies will be colored with benefits like these:

  • Child abuse and neglect prevention
  • Obesity prevention
  • School readiness
  • Increased community connections
  • Increased healthy adult/child interactions
  • Improved social-emotional development

There are many benefits to children and our community by making an impact in the lives of children early. This is just a few but studies show that the return on investment in quality early childhood programs can be $7-$16 for every $1 invested.

Encouraging the development of the child can lead to less abuse and neglect; fewer child deaths; improved physical, emotional and cognitive development; better parenting skills and involvement; increased safety in the home; fewer teen pregnancies; improved school performance; increased rates of high school graduation; reduced need for foster care, juvenile detention, and other youth intervention services.

During the first five years, 90% of brain development occurs, and we can set children on a healthy course for development, which will be needed for school and beyond. Our efforts focus on those first five years but also support those who contribute to the success of children.
