We asked parents to tell us why they love their child care provider for Child Care Provider Appreciation Day on May 6. For our second year we received numerous responses from parents who rely on caring and stable care of their children. Thank you to all who were able to send your comments in or tell your thanks to your provider! You express the sentiments many of us feel but don’t always say!

BRIGHT BEGINNINGS
- Nate and Annie-Our childcare providers (Ms. Amy and Ms. Katie in the one year old room) are terrific because they sincerely want the best for our son. They are excited to see his growth and changes. They are kind, patient and full of energy. Even when Hudson is at his worst, they continue to only see the best in him. I am completely comfortable leaving him in their care every day.
- Jolie-Bright Beginnings is a wonderful, safe, learning environment for my son. We have only been using a daycare center for a little over a month, however the transition was smooth thanks to the wonderful staff. Marissa and Makita have asked questions, provided feedback and really invest themselves into having a positive impact on my child’s life. THANK YOU!

- Jennifer-Amy’s love for her 2 and 3 year old students is very evident. She is calm, patient, caring, and positive. She takes the time to talk with the parents at pick up about their child’s day. She goes above and beyond and I appreciate that. When my daughter got hurt after Amy had left for the day, Amy heard what happened and sent me a text to check to make sure my daughter was okay. To me that showed how much she cares for her students. As a mom it is hard to leave my kids to go to work, but I am so happy that my daughter has Amy to care for her during the day. My daughter loves Amy and I know that she is well cared for and happy.
- Kristal-It’s important that my childcare provider gets recognized and thanked because in my opinion other than being a parent yourself, the most important job is working with children. It is hard enough to leave my kids during the day because I have to go to work, but knowing that my son is in excellent care during the day puts me at ease. Parents have a lot of important decisions they need to make in their child’s life, and it starts with childcare. Taking my kids to Creative Kids validates that I made the right decision on the care of my children. Before my daughter was going to school full time, Creative Kids was amazing how flexible they were with my schedule due to a split home situation. The flexibility that Creative Kids showed my family was that we were not just a number that added money to their payroll, but that they genuinely cared about my daughter getting the care she needed. A couple years later I had a son and have taken him to Creative Kids since he was a baby. Creative Kids continues to prove how much they cared about my family by taking interest in listening to my concerns about my son. All the teachers have been very open in their communication and that means the world to me being away from my son during the day. I have never seen any teacher look like they “don’t want to be there”. Everyday the teachers show their love for the kids care and development by their demeanor and actions. I want to say Thank You to Creative Kids and to everyone there that has made my experience a great memory for me and for my kids.
CUDDLE CARE
- Christina-All the great teachers at Cuddle Care greet my kiddos with a smile every morning. We are always happy to get to school and enjoy our day. They are wonderful!
- Katie-Our boys have been going to Cuddle Care since 2013. Every morning, we (my husband or I) as well as our boys are always greeted by name and with a smile. We LOVE that all the teachers know every child’s name, as well as the parents. The teachers there are always willing to help and looking for ways to assist in various things, such as potty training, learning to write letters and the list goes on. They also have so many different learning opportunities available for our boys from a nature center, to raising baby chicks, butterflies and fish, various activities outside for our children to play on in their free time. We would not bring our boys anywhere else and highly recommend Cuddle Care to our friends.
- Kerry-They are all loving, caring, and nurturing. I trust everyone at Cuddle Care to watch after my children.
- Leah- Our daughter Lauren loves going to Cuddle Care, her teachers are very caring and they do so many fun activities. We couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

- Shore-My child care is the best. They treat everyone Like they are part of there own family. They are honest loving and down to earth and understand each and every families needs . Coleen is the owner and she is very loyal and good to her employees and parents. I recommend this day care to so many people. You know you have a good day care when there is s waiting list to get in ????
- Erin-Ohhh there are so many reason! I have three kiddo’s that attend, my youngest is in the baby room; when I drop her off the owner of the daycare is always in there interacting with the babies and parents. It is nice knowing that the owner is always on site to ensure successful care. They teachers are all sincere and know the parents on a personal level. My oldest son is in the 4 year old room where Mrs. Swagel peeps them for kindergarten. She does an amazing job with the kids and has the magic touch with teaching academics and life skills. I could go on and on but I sure do love it!
Danielle Baumgarten
- Mary-Danielle is great with Sawyer it’s like having another mother for her. I can’t tell you how good it feels to leave my baby with someone I can truly trust.
ENCOMPASS
Encompass- ABW
- Patricia-Our Daycare provider is the 2year old teacher Diane at Encompass, ABW location. Our twins have just started potty training and she is so encouraging and supportive! She always has nice things to say and the kids really love her too! She deserves a spa day!
Encompass-Cornerstone
- Nicole-I have 4 children ages 13, 7, 6, and 1 and I have used Encompass Cornerstone for all 4 of my children. I absolutely love the facility and staff. When my son started there in 2003 I was told about a year later that my son had some developmental problems and needed to see a speech therapist. Encompass staff was so awesome and helpful with my son and getting everything set up with a speech therapist and today my son no longer needs speech therapy. Encompass staff was very helpful and compassionate with my sons situation. Years later I enrolled my 2 daughters there and they loved it! And now currently my 1 1/2 year old attends Encompass Cornerstone and I absolutely love the teachers in her room! they are very welcoming and my daughter loves going to “school” each day!

- Sarah- I love our childcare provider because they love my child. Not only do they love, teach and care for him but they also care about us as a family. After a traumatic life event, every teach and staff opened their arms and hearts us our baby and us as a family. They have always been very thoughtful, caring and creative is all development stages. They keep him safe and yet give room for independence. The staff here is truly wonderful!
KHRISTIN DUPUIS
- Vanessa- We feel so blessed to have Khristin DuPuis in our lives!!! It was just three short years ago, I had HER son Brendan in my 4th grade class, and now she has MY son in her home. Each and every day, I can go off to school to take care of my students knowing that my child will be well taken care of, too! Dillon will be two at the end of the month and calling it the “terrible two’s” doesn’t even come close to cutting it. He has been an absolute terror since the day he was born! In fact, he didn’t sleep through the night until he was 14 months old. He is strong willed and “all boy” to say the least. Even so, Khristin provides gentle guidance and demonstrates the most extreme patience. She is kind, caring, and loving and Dillon absolutely adores her. He goes running into her arms each and every morning and is quick to wave “bye-bye” to me so that he can soak up every minute with her that he can. There are no words to describe how much appreciation we have for her tireless efforts and hard work caring for our son. We love you Khristin!
KID CITY
- Brenda-They are very flexible with needing to pick up child little later, financial issues willing to work with each individual. The teachers genuinely care about each individual child. Each child gets one on one attention. They make you feel like family, and not just a number. I am enjoying our experience there.
- Nini-Shelly – Makes sure I am safe and learning every day. She has respect for me. And Buys fun stuff to play and good food.
- Shelly-Christina- My child tells me that she loves the fun things Christina does with her. She does art, book, and plays outside.
- -Amanda– Taking to my kids they like Amanda for how she makes them laugh and is silly. She gives lots of hugs. I see how happy they are to see her each day.

KIDZ IN MOTION
- Joe- My son absolutely loves going to Kidz In Motion. He has been going there since he was an infant. He enjoys the summer program Kamp Kidz, as they provide great opportunities for him to play, and have fun with different friends. The teaching staff is just amazing and have always treated us like family. They are the most caring, fun, and trusted caregivers for our son. Thank Kidz In Motion for being so amazing!
- Katie-They love and care about our kids. From their health to their emotional well being to their development, they are our partners in raising and developing strong, educated and healthy kids. From our kids’ perspective, they have so much fun playing with the kids and teachers, while learning new skills, that they are excited when it is a “daycare” day.

- Michelle-Lynn Pasco has been like a second mother to our two children. She has taught my 3 year old so many things that I thought I would never be able to do on my own. He knows all his ABC’s, can count over 20, knows his colors and shapes. I could go on an on with all the wonderful things she does on a daily basis. My kids are so excited to go to her house every morning which makes me feel so wonderful about picking her as our Daycare provide. She is truly an angel!

- Heidi- She is amazing. She is always teaching the children life lessons while making everything fun for the kiddos. I have seen a huge change on my son since he started with her. I am grateful for her daily.

As I hand her off each morning, the hugs, smiles, and comforting reassures me that I have found the absolute best place for my child.
- Brigette-Our childcare provider, Oconto Area Non-Profit Child Care, has been a blessing for our family! Reliable, dependable, caring – the staff is not just baby-sitters. They are teachers, mentors, friends and part of our family. So grateful for the day that a friend recommended this facility to us. Twelve years and a few kids later, we still love this center!

- Tasha- Our child care provider is always so warm welcoming. Always smiling. My son is always happy to go to “school.” I always feel safe when I drop him off.
ROSHBUSH CENTER
- Kateesha-She is very patient and my son is always excited to share things with ms. Kari that he saw at home that pertains to what they learned in class.
- Bailey-My son’s teacher, Ms. Renee is so awesome!!! She works well with Jayse and is very patient. She is great at communicating anything about Jayse, whether it’s good or bad. Jayse is a tough kid to handle sometimes as he has a lot of energy, but Ms. Renee is very firm and makes sure Jayse knows the rules. She is very understanding and willing to help with Jayse’s potty training schedule and we are working together to reach that milestone. Overall, both Jayse and I love Ms. Renee!
SHINING STAR
- Jessica-She is like FAMILY! I can call any time during the day to check on my kids and always get an honest answer. I get pictures and stories daily. The kids love her and talk about her at home.
- Kasie-Shining Stars Hobart has been a wonderful place for our boys! The teachers care for my babies like their own! Every day the teachers go above and beyond to create an environment for the kids that is engaging, educational, and exciting!!
SILLY MONKEY CHILDCARE
- Melissa-Liz- Does so many leaning activities with the kids to keep them engaged. She makes us feel so comfortable and happy having out son with her.
STARTING POINT
- Erica-The staff at Starting Point Child Care do an excellent job caring for our daughter, Hannah. All of the staff are friendly, and you can tell that they enjoy caring for little people. Hannah is happy because the ladies in the infant room play and giggle with her. Hannah would drink her milk too quickly, so the ladies have learned to slow her down, and they recommended a different bottle to help. The ladies have given this first-time mom and dad many tips and tricks for caring for an infant. Thank you Stephanie, Rose, Tara, Donna and Debbie!!
- Julie-Miss Lisa at Starting Point Daycare in Howard has made my life so much easier. My son always hated drop off time but after spending time with her he likes going to daycare. She has provided him with the best level of support and guidance he needs to not only be happy but also to thrive. Miss Lisa provides school age children with engaging projects and just the right level of discipline to keep them healthy happy and respectful. Her love of children shows in her work everyday.

STAY N PLAY
- Kayla-My son’s teacher Ms. Hale is so wonderful. Each and everyday she greets us with a smile on her face and my son just adores her. I don’t know where we would be without her. I never feel worried about him and I know he is in the best hands.
- Libby-They are always coming up with things for the kids to enjoy! Whether it be a field trip, a party, or just decorating their rooms around a theme, they keep the kids engaged in age-appropriate activities without overstimulation.
- Jessica-All of the teachers at Stay N Play really take time to get to know each child and make them feel special. Our daughter has learned so much since starting here!
STEP AHEAD
- Laura-I love Step Ahead Child Care because of the teachers that have worked with my child. They are great with her, are always cheery and upbeat, take good care of her and are always in good communication with me. My daughter has learned so much and is extremely smart!!! I really appreciate all they do there and the relationship we have gotten to build with them. Thanks Step Ahead!!
- Elizabeth- They go above and beyond to take care of my daughter. They provide safe, excellent care. My daughter loves it there. I feel comfortable leaving my child there.
- Kristin-We love Step Ahead! Their staff have been wonderful with our daughter. They should all be recommended for excellent customer service. They are patient and very accommodating. Step Ahead has been very flexible with our needs as it comes to our daughter. She loves going to daycare throughout the week as a result. They made the transition of me going back to work very seamless and more worry-free than I thought it would be. I am also constantly impressed by the structure they have for the day. They, not only, watch my daughter; they facilitate learning in all its forms for children: reading, singing, playing, sharing, arts, outdoor activities, and more. It is an understatement to say we are happy with Step Ahead as our daughter’s daycare. I can’t imagine sending her anywhere else!
STEPPING STONES
- Kristin-Stepping Stones child care has the most loving teachers. They are also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to my toddlers’ development.
- Jen-They work with me on our frequent schedule changes, plus it is one block from where I work. My son loves all of the teachers, he has been there since he was 3 months old (now 3 1/2), so he definitely knows everyone their. I depend on them when I can’t be around. They are so kind, caring, and always willing to help.
- Stephanie-I love all of the teachers at Stepping Stones and so does my daughter. They fill the day with fun activities, reading, walks, and play time outside. I know my daughter is in good hands while I am at work. I also love that they are very flexible with my schedule as I do not work the same hours every day.
- Becky- All the ladies at Stepping Stones Childcare are amazing! From the directors, leads, teachers, and staff – it’s like being part of a big family. My daughter is loved and taken care of as if she was at home. She loves her teachers and friends and she has a ton of fun playing and learning. Thanks Kelcie and Tina! (And ALL of you ladies at Stepping Stones that care for our lil miss!!!) 🙂
- Carrie- When I drop my 9 month off in the morning, I do not have any fears at all because I know that Stepping Stones will take good care of her and that she is in good hands. They have such a “family” feel to their daycare that I know she not only learns new things but she can feel the positivity from them. The daycare is clean and organized and the main thing that made me choose Stepping Stones over the other local daycares was the children were all smiling. They do a lot of activities with my daughter through out the day and I get a detailed sheet when I pick her up of her feeding/changing/nap times which help a great deal.
- Melissa-We have had our daughter at Stepping Stones Child Care since she was 6 weeks old. She is now 2 and she absolutely loves it there. She learns so much and is advancing well above her 2 year old age. We feel like family to all of them. They show our daughter so much love. We really love Stepping Stones and highly recommend it.
- Sara-Stepping Stones is full of energetic friendly staff that are great with my son! They serve awesome food and always have something fun for the kids to do.
- Cheryl-Mi Kayla Petasek – treats each child with tender loving care. She individualizes their learning based on the child. She sees each child as a gift.

- Gunna and Maha-Our son started day care around 2 years. He used to cry a lot in the beginning. We appreciate the efforts put by miss Tina in handling and making him comfortable.
TAMMY MCALLISTER
- Kristen- Tammy is basically another mother to my child. My son has been with her since he was 8 weeks old. In my eyes she is a partner in raising my beautiful boy. We love her!
- Jordan-Tammy– Respectful, confident, caring. Well-vended and overall great teacher.
- Lynnett- I love Tammy because she understands that all children need to be raised different. My high spirited, bossy and stubborn daughter will be taught to harness those qualities and how to positively apply them to her every day growth. I am overjoyed to know that my daughter is with someone that will help her succeed when I am unable to do so.
- Susan- We have been with Tammy for over 6 years. She is a natural teacher that provides daily projects/routines and focus on teaching our children respect for all.
TENDER HEARTS II
- Sarah-So many reasons…organized, clean, professional (but personable), so patient, above and beyond the call of duty
- Barb-Tender Hearts is a very will new family oriented center. Our child is very happy there. They are very accommodating to flexible schedules and always put the child’s needs first. They do a lot of field trips which separates them from the competition.
- Michelle and Chuck- They are so flexible! Our daughter loves going.
- Jamie-They are always doing art projects w/my daughter & upbeat playful w/her. She loves getting dropped off

TENDER HEARTS LEARNING CENTER
- Kelly and Rhianna-They provide a safe and fun environment for the kids. The teachers are great! We like all the fun activities they do, the kids have fun while they are learning.
- Rachael-Tender Hearts Learning Center provides quality instruction and positive discipline to the children. They have a friendly staff. The correspond with parents promptly as needed. They also provide Christian Based Virtues to for our children to learn the basis of becoming a good citizen.
- Matthew- The before and after school program provides my child with healthy meals and snacks, quiet study time to complete homework and safe outside activities to encourage appropriate social interaction. Using positive discipline techniques!
- Lisa-We have two young children in their care and when we first started sending our youngest, they would make sure the two of them had a chance to see each other during the day, especially if one was “sad”. All of the teachers our kids have had so far have been great to work with and the kids both love going. They have an awesome playground the kids like playing on. They also are very accommodating with our schedule. Overall, we’re very happy we chose to send our kids here.
- Sokhoeun-I love my childcare provider, because they work with my schedule. They care for my daughter like I would. I see her eyes light up and a big smile every time I pick her up.

TERESA TILKENS
- Andrea- My oldest started seeing her at 15m and she immediately started working with him in his development. By 18m he was singing ABCs, counting to 13, knew his shapes, and colors!! She also showed him independent skills like putting on his coat and pulling up pants. Along with helping him potty train starting at 18m and being fully potty trained at 2!!! She has been flexible with her schedule and welcomes our kids in her home.

- Melissa-I couldn’t ask for a better partner to teach & care for my child. UTR has taught my child so much and their heart and dedication in teaching and caring shine through, the joy, mental growth and development that my child had today.
- Stephanie-Every day they greet my child when we come in. They work with her to help her learn and play with others. The teachers really care about my child and her development. They get us involved with what it is going on with her daily activities and keep us well informed.

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE
- Jennifer-They try to be as flexible with schedules as possible. They really take the time to know the kids and give them the attention they need. They start teaching the kids at a very young age and include them in fun activities. I love that it’s not a big day care. The owner Keegan Pries is very passionate about her business. All of the teachers there treat the kids like their own. From the first day that I dropped my 4 month old, they were very kind and understood how nervous and sad I was to leave my baby from the first time. Went above and beyond to put me at ease and fall in love with the place.
YWCA CHILD CARE AND LEARNING CENTER
- Julie-I love my child care provider because the teachers are an extension of our family. They truly care and are dedicated to the children and families they serve as well as the early childhood education profession. The teachers are a true blessing and there is a strong feeling of family between them and with the families served. Although it is a larger center it has the personalized feel of a family. I am able to go to work and know each day that my child is loved and cared for by an amazing team of teachers and staff. The YWCA is by far one of the very best providers there are!
