Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. has an immediate opening for an experienced Early Childhood Consultant. This person will have knowledge of YoungStar, the quality rating and improvement system for the state of Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
A. Direct Service to child care programs
1. Quality Improvement in family child care and group centers
2. Participate in mandated professional development training’s
3. Participate in monthly teleconferences
4. Assess programs using environmental rating scale
5. Deliver Quality Improvement Technical Assistance (TA)
6. Provide support to existing child care providers/administrators
B. Training/Educational Events
1. Deliver training for child care providers including, but not limited to:
a. Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards
b. Pyramid Model
2. Participate in agency educational and outreach events
Bachelor’s Degree Desired. Applicant must be a Registry Level 14 or within 6 months of hire obtain a Registry Level 14.

Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W.
Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. has an immediate opening for an experienced Parent Educator. A passionate and dedicated professional is need to support families and children through a variety of programs for caregivers.
FLSA Status: Full time exempt (35-40 hours per week)
Evening and/or occasional weekend hours are required
This position is contingent upon grant funding.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Service (75%)
- Facilitate and/or co-facilitate
- Group based parent/caregiver education courses
- Adult education programs/workshops
- Coordinate family based programs.
- Provide home based/Agency based parent/caregiver education and support
- Schedule and implement family support visits, including family coaching, outreach and education.
- Provide needed home visits based on goals established by recipient and parent educator
- Utilize interactive parent education materials
- Utilize support and coaching phone calls
- Receive training and utilize evidence-based home visiting model to work with at-risk families with children up to age 12.
- Complete necessary reporting, data collection, evaluations as necessary
- Coordinate and plan all activities for programming; ensure adequate supply of family-based materials in alignment with agency selected model; understand and plan family-based goals.
- Work with community organizers, nonprofit agencies, families and individuals to identify community needs and provide recommendation for services.
- Resource and Referral
- Make necessary referrals to community based programs and services; work with Resource Specialists to complete follow-up for families;
- Continue to research new community resources and update Resource and Referral Specialists with new support resources
- Encourage participation in the wide variety of programs available at the Agency and within the community
- Engage families in self-sufficiency and mutual support.
- Fees for Service, Contracted Services
- Work with agency leadership in identifying, implementing and monitoring new for-fee programs and services throughout the community;
- Assist leadership in identifying potential funding, grants, fundraiser, and community collaborations to increase revenue or diversify revenue streams
- Work with leadership in effectively planning and coordinating all trainings for family-based programming as directed.
- Agency-related activities: Assist agency leadership and staff in identifying, cultivating and maintaining long-term relationships with community, corporate, nonprofit, and government agencies as directed; assist with fundraising, outreach, marketing, documentation, and delivery of support systems
- Preparation, Planning and Record-keeping (15%)
- Plan and prepare group based parent/caregiver group based education and workshops
- Plan and prepare for home visits
- Keep proper documentation for grant requirements
- Maintain accurate records of all program participants
- Administer evaluation tools for grant requirements
- Coordinate set-up and clean-up outreach programming and workshops
- Request needed program supplies
III. Other Duties (10%)
- Assist in achieving all program goals and objectives
- Attend staff meeting and staff development workshops
- Attend team planning and curriculum development sessions
- Keep lines of communication open with all staff members
- Help ensure the Agency space is utilized and maintained in good order and free of hazards
- Train, support and supervise volunteers, if applicable
- Assist with marketing and public presentations, if applicable
- Assist with Agency fundraising
- Represent the Agency in community service agency meetings for the purpose of collaboration and networking
- Help ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the Agency
- Solicit, arrange for and accepting donations needed by the Agency as needed.
- Encourage participants to volunteer and assist with Agency activities
- Submit information for newsletters, if needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to view parents/caregivers as peers
- Ability to identify and promote family/caregiver strengths
- Knowledge of early childhood development; specifically birth – 5 years old
- Ability to model positive ways of interacting with children
- Ability to model and encourage non-physical forms of safe, nurturing discipline
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet needs identified by participants
- Ability to facilitate group parent/caregiver educational programs
- Ability to be a resource and give support
- Effective written and oral communication
- Ability to work with all Agency staff, volunteers, school personnel and
collaborative partners as part of a team
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports correctly and completely by deadlines established
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Internet and
E-mail capabilities)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships in the community
- Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance
- Bilingual language skills required
- Ability to pass background check
Education Requirement: Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Family Education, Psychology and or Human Development preferred. Minimum of a Bachelor degree in any field required.
